  • Health and wellness coaching is a relatively new profession developed out of a need to provide more support to patients making difficult lifestyle changes as they strive to better their health. A board-certified health coach uses evidence-based techniques to encourage a client’s self-efficacy and identify effective motivators to improving their well-being. A coach offers time, understanding, compassion, and accountability to a client as they work towards their health goals. A health coach is not a medical practitioner, and cannot diagnose, treat, or provide therapeutic interventions for medical conditions.

  • Functional Medicine is an approach to healthcare which seeks to address the root cause of disease, as opposed to treating each symptom separately. This involves getting to know the whole person, their medical history, their lifestyle, and their values. This in-depth knowledge is crucial to identifying the underlying cause of their suffering, and treating the person as a whole.

  • The Functional Medicine Coaching Academy was established in collaboration with the Institute for Functional Medicine to train coaches in a holistic and functional approach to coaching. The mission of the FMCA is to educate high quality coaches to use evidence-based techniques to motivate, support, educate, and engage clients on their path to improved health and vitality. I completed the year-long certification course in 2019.

  • Any new prospective client is entitled to one free 45-minute consultation with me. There is no obligation to purchase any sessions following this consultation. This consultation is an opportunity for you to share your health goals with me, as well as for me to provide education on the coaching process. The goal of this consultation is for us both to determine if you would benefit from working with me. To schedule, please complete the contact form. I will respond via email to schedule a time.   • After your free consultation, we will schedule your initial intake session which will be 75 minutes long. This is necessary for me to get to know you, your history, and your goals. After your intake session each coaching session is 45 minutes long, scheduled at whatever frequency you desire. I may recommend a certain frequency, but there is no obligation to follow it. Coaching needs to work for YOU and fit into YOUR life.

  • All payments are made online through secure, HIPAA compliant Practice Better software using Square payment processing. Square encrypts all card-payments from beginning to end. Read more about Square here. I can accept all major cards: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, JCB, and UnionPay.

  • At this time, I am not able to accept health insurance. If you are interested in obtaining a superbill to submit to your insurance, you will first need to obtain a letter of medical necessity from your doctor or licensed healthcare professional. We can discuss this on an individual basis.

  • No, I cannot accept direct payments from Health Savings Account (HSA) cards. However, you may try submitting a bill to your HSA for reimbursement. You will first need to obtain a letter of medical necessity from your doctor or licensed healthcare professional. We can discuss this on an individual basis.

  • Sessions are conducted over secure Zoom video call software. Zoom can be downloaded as an app on your phone, a desktop application, or opened in a web browser. You do not need an account to use Zoom in a web browser, but you will need an account for the app or desktop application. A Zoom account is free, and only requires that you create a username and password. I politely request that you use a device equipped with a camera. I understand that we may not always feel or look our best, but in order to connect and understand each other fully, I believe we must be able to see one another. If your computer does not have a webcam, you can purchase one separately which will connect via USB. I am happy to provide technical assistance if needed.

  • No, I do not currently offer in-person sessions.

  • Yes, my certification allows me to see clients anywhere in the world. I am located in the US Eastern Time zone. We can work together to find a schedule that works for us both.

  • I can work with anyone over the age of 13. Individuals under the age of 18 will require a parent/guardian’s permission and signature, however, all health information for minors is still kept confidential.
